Baby Jewelry?
Why are some cultures such as Indians big on giving their babies/children gold jewelry?
My husband is Indian and his family made a point to send her gold jewelry. I even noticed this before they sent gold to our daughter. I have always thought it was beautiful but was just wondering if it is a cultural thing?

It is cultural usually.
Im not cultural but at my baby’s christening she was showered with jewelery.
Most of it, was stuff that will fit when she is much older,
but she got a lovely charm bracelet.
