All about Jewelry

what if the we decided to make jewelry (gold silver diamonds ect.) illegal?

Any jewelry would have to me handmade.
It would be an anti-greed law.
Passed to try to rid the country of greed, and keep people from being materialistic?
What if they stopped making fast cars to drive in the streets with expensive engines? Just cars that are good enough to get you from point A to B.?
What if we decided to stop glorifying fancy things?
What if we went through a period of change where everyone decided not to worship material possesions?
How do you think it would change the world?

Although materialistic worship is wrong, and I am strongly against it, our society depends on it. The economy wouldn’t make it through a period of change like that. We need the fancy things so there are places to waste money, and there are people who can occupy their lives making those fancy things. Cars good enough to get you from A to B? Sorry - what about all those people who’s lives are solely dependent on making their cars that much more fancy - like gold plate parts of the engine. Unfortunately the world depends on greed too.
