Where’s a good place to find hip/cool men’s rings?
Author: admin
We are desparately trying to find my fiance the perfect wedding band but nothing has piqued his interest. We’ve been to all the "mall jewelry stores" so those are not an option, i.e. Kay, Reed’s, Jared’s, etc. What are some cool stores that you know of for us to check out?
try all of them, ask for the clearance section.
read comments (1)Problem with my cartilage piercing..?
Author: admin
I got my cartilage pierced about 4 weeks ago with a gun. I know, bad idea. But it didnt hurt at all for the last few weeks. I was using rubbing alcohol to clean it then switched to sea salt soaks. Once i started that, my piercing became swollen and it hurts a bit now. I have always had a problem with jewelry that’s not gold. I have 3 other piercings, which all had a problem with the butterfly piercing the gun uses.
My question is, Can i change my cartilage jewelry now to some kind of gold jewelry?
Right now i have a ‘gold plated" one, im not to sure if i should keep it on.
Thank you1
thank you for the answers. i just changed it. i almost threw up. became realllyy dizzy for some reason. i had to sit down and wait untill the dizziness went away. put in a gold hoop. i hope that heals it better.
Yeah you can switch it. Just make sure the new jewelry is very clean. If you want you should try using saline solution to clean your ear. It works very well but so should the sea salt. When You change them make sure you do it fast. Take it out and put the other one in.
would like to incorporate the name lightfoot. looking for somethin’ creative & funky. and if i could get a slogan too, that would be great. thank a bunch!

Most annoying radio commercials??
Author: admin
I was listening to the radio on the way to work and there were several commercials in a row (actually on different stations cause I kept switching it as soon as the next one started) that were DRIVING ME NUTS!!!
What are your pet peeve radio commercials? Do they actually make you NOT buy the products/use the company advertised?
This morning’s offenders were:
Sunsetter Awnings - "Tell me about the discount, Rebecca" (they use the same script for this ANNOYING commercial over and over, and just change the name… I don’t know if they think that they just can’t get the right name to make the commercial work, but it’s awful.
Jared Galleria of Jewelry - "That’s JAAARRREEEDDDD…" and "He went to Jared!" Just grates on the ears.
And finally some product that I don’t remember the name of but the commercial talks about the reason that "America is so fat" is that there is "a buildup on the colon walls like spackle or paste" SPARE ME!!!
I’m definately lost business to these.
That goddamn Empire Carpet jingle. Whenever it comes on, I just have it stuck in my head for the rest of the day. "800-588-2300 empire… today!"

Where to buy funky jewelry for a 16-year-old?
Author: admin
I’d like to buy several pieces, spending around $100.00 total. Any ideas? On-line purchasing is best for me, but off-line suggestions are welcome too.
You have many options, though buying jewellery for others is always difficult. For that age, it depends on what kind of jewellery they already wear, and whether you are looking for costume jewellery or something with a bit more prestige and value.
If they are picky with their jewellery I suggest the gift-card route. If you have given her pieces before, only to find them never being worn, then gift cards are definitely the way to go.
Check out the sources below for my somewhat biased response (co-owner). Many interresting designs, reasonably priced, but definitely not costume jewellery.
Hope this helped!

Traveling Lord of the Rings Movie Props???
Author: admin
I know for a while after the Lord of the Rings trilogy was complete, the powers that be took some of the outfits and jewelry etc to different "Comic-Con" type events. I am just wondering if they still do this (with Arwen’s butterfly crown etc) if they do not are the props in a museum somewhere or are they just gathering dust? What happens to the props now? Auction?
Thanks!
Well, I was just doing some research and if you go to wikipedia.org they actually have a Lord of the Rings exhibit at the Te Papa (I think) museum in Australia or New Zealand. It is currently in Spain until sometime in 2007. I spoke to the museum curator and they said that the stuff remains the property of the lender and they are not sure what will happen after Spain. Maybe travel some more maybe have a permanent place in New Zealand. I just hope it come around to my neck of the woods, THANKS! But I found the answer myself!
that’s a good question. i’d love to get my hands on some of the props they had! i dont think they’re at a museum somewhere. some clothes have been auctioned off, i heard. most of the props used are probably either with the studio or with peter jackson.
Need A Funky Prep Look plus Funky Makeup?
Author: admin
I need a new look for the school year. I want made up eyes and I love jewelry and my makeup. I believe in a bag to go with my outfits. I love colors. I want my outfit to be cute. I do not need stores to go to. I need people to make outfits or tell me how to achieve the look. I love my flip flops and high-heels. Maybe some hair tips. I need some clean cut oufits with some funkiness to them. I think Abercrombie and Hollister outfits are so dull, ugly, expected, and NOT orignal. We all know they cater to surfers and boring wannabe preps. The prep look is old. I need to update it. I love to look cute, but Urban.
You seem to have an idea of how badly I want to go into Hollister and A&F and just start cutting up and modifying their merchandise.
Vintage prep can be really fabulous, e.g. :

Okay, not the best pic of her, but you get the gist.
Secondhand stores (if you have the patience and time to dig through stuff) can produce some amazing results. Cheap collared shirts, jeans, etc. Staples that you can build your outfits around.
All you need is some creativity. Take some of the clothing you already have, and cut it up. If you can sew, combine articles of clothing, like logos from a sweatshirt sewn to the back of a white, collared, button down shirt. Make some really old jeans into a short skirt, and add navy and white striped material to add length.
Dare combine preppy with animal print …? Just a thought.
Pumps are amazing. I once saw a neon pair with comic strip print on them, and haven’t forgotten them since.
As far as makeup goes, the smoky eyes, or cat-eye eyeliner combined with pastel pink lips are gorgeous. Minimal makeup and red lips is classic. Glossy lips and a multicolored eyeshadow job is out there (e.g. turquoise on the lid, and pink in the crease.)
Go with your gut - if it’s figure flattering and fun, go for it!
