do u think he will buy this soon?!!?
Author: admin
my bf and I have been together for 4.5 years now. he is 31, never married and i’m 30 w/3 girls from a previous marriage that he helps me raise part time (they are ages 10,8,and 7)
we have lived together officially since Feb of this year (I say officially b/c I had an apartment for 3 years but rarely stayed there the last 2 years).
we had talked about marriage awhile back and we both know we want to spend the rest of our lives together. while shopping at costco last week, we walked past the jewelry section and I saw a beautiful flower/butterfly shaped diamond ring. it was very simple but so pretty w/the butterfly in the middle and rows of diamonds on each side. He saw it too and thought that it was pretty but not expensive enough (it was 1300.00). I told him that I have really small hands (wear a size 3.5 in rings) so anything bigger than the 0.70 carats it was would be just too big and I didn’t want anything too expensive anyways-it was about being with him afterall.
we went back to costco again yesterday for some things and saw that the ring was still there so we looked again. he suggested I ask someone to take it out so I could try it on. we did and it was perfect!! It still looked big on my finger and he was suprised by this and told me it was beautiful. I joked w/him that he was going to get me totally attached to it and then he’d be in trouble.
when we got home, he pulled me aside and told me how much he loved me and the kids-wanted to spend the rest of his life w/me and that within 6 months, I’d have my engagement ring. He then said he knew how much I liked the one at costco and that he also knew that it was one of a kind (once costco sells it, they dont replace it with the same kind of ring). I gave him a big hug and kiss then we went about our day.
i’m trying not to get too excited but this ring was "the ring" kind of like a woman knows when a wedding dress is "the dress"!!
and yes I totally know that the ring isn’t what it’s all about-I explained this to my bf. I am way more excited about being his wife and spending my life with him.
do you think he’ll get it since he knows how much I liked it (and he liked it too) and then him saying it would be soon?!!
I will take the 2 points for the same answer I gave when you posted this previously.

Rhodochrosite is my favorite stone. Price doesn’t matter to me (their shipping costs are different) I’ll only wear it when I have a pink shirt/dress on. I just can’t decide what looks better overall. Any reasons why I should choose which one?
I’m 20 years old if that helps for what’s age appropriate.
I’m only deciding on one, so as much as all of you like both. Which one would you choose if you had this choice. Thanks!
Handmade one. It is timeless! You can wear it when you’re twenty, fourty, or sixty and it would still look b-e-a-utiful!
And since it is a unique peice, no one else will have one like yours.
what do you think of my style? males and females please?

comments?
sounds interesting, just always remember to be different as yourself.
My friend bought me two really nice jewelry boxes from jared. But I dont wear jewelry! Would the store let me return them? I havnt even used it at all yet, its like still in the box the store wrapped it in…
Even if its just store credit, thats better than nothing. I dont want to sell them or give them to someone else.
So do you think the store would let me?
If you have the receipt, yes. If you don’t then you’re out of luck, because you can’t very well ask your friend for it. The store might give you half of the total credit back, but probably not the full amount. Sorry.

I should add that when he said i’d have my ring in 6 months-he meant we’d be engaged…
hmmmm… sounds like u loved that ring! and thats o.k! but a ring is a symbol, a token… the real promise of engagement shouldnt come from the ring, but from each others desire to be together forever. i believe you want him to be forever yours, and some guys buy "the ring" to show that they are serious. alot of women look for the ring.
in other words, ive been married for 16 years and still havent gotten an engagement ring! i got a friendship ring, and a wedding band.
the friend ship ring got stolen, wedding band got too little, my husbands broke, and were still together! it was the other terms of endearment that sealed of commitment.
there’s nothing wrong with jewelry as a token of one’s love…. but jewelry can be lost, stolen, etc… let your hearts be engaged, your soul’s desire to become one…
Are bola ties (or bolo ties) unprofessional?
Author: admin
I used to be in a hobby of making jewelry and was big into making bola ties, the western style kind consisting of a piece of jewelry with a leather cord worn as a kind of tie. But over the years, I found that it seemed more of a waste of time making what I thought was a form of lovely jewelry. It seems that all the silver and turquoise or gold and other stones don’t produce a product that has much popularity and society seems to put more value in an ordinary cloth tie make in a sweatshop in China than a handmade work of art.
I have heard the same arguement that the bola ties do not agree with dress codes of many businesses and that wearing them would be just one more way that people can get themselves into trouble, as in the case of a Maryland high school student who was barred from participating in his graduation ceremony because he wore a bola tie instead of a regular tie
Bottom line is that it appears that bola ties are not considered proper professional attire.
It’s hard to imagine an occasion where the bola tie is appropriate. Not in a corporate setting. Not even in a business casual setting, unless the person consistantly wears Western attire. I can’t imagine wearing non-Western attire with a bola.
Which is kinda a shame - I like bola ties. But I haven’t worn mine in a decade.
My friend once told me about a street/place where one can get these items at very cheap prices because it was a wholesale place, She had got lots of funky 70s style jewelry and headbands. If anyone knows such place please let me know, or any other suggestion for an inexpensive shopping spree in the windy city… Thanks
"inexpensive" and "chicago" don’t really go together. i can tell you that in wicker park near damen and milwaukee there are a ton of really cool shops and restaurants for a day of fun shopping. there are accessory shops, resale stores, sterling silver jewelry shops, hip coffee joints and used cd stores all up and down milwaukee and north avenue. also around belmont and halsted there are a ton of funky shops that carry cool accessories and clothes along with nice restaurants/bars for a day of fun. also the blueman group plays in this area.
Diamonique Jewlery from QVC?
Author: admin
Does anyone own a Diamonique ? My fiance just gave me a pair of half carat, princess cut diamond earrings from Jared’s Jewelry which matches my engagement ring. I was thinking it would be nice to match up a necklace but I don’t want him shelling out another grand to get me one.
I’m wondering if the Diamonique looks like real diamonds and do they keep their clarity and sparkle?
I’m worried about the sparkle and clarity mostly. CZ over time become foggy and lose their sparkle so if Diamoniques end up doing this I may just opt to find something else.
Thanks!
Their Dominique does look real! I have a few things and I love them and you can’t even tell that they are not real diamonds. These are clear and the cuts are perfect! You won’t be disappointed! They also stay that way, very easy care. Check out their Epiphany line also, It’s beautiful!
