Gift for my mother?
I would really like to get my mother a gift for helping me with my wedding and well raising me…
We already got my FMIL a nice piece of jewelry she is Indian and likes jewelry in that particular style.
My mother owns more yellow gold then any women I know so I want to find her something nice, but nothing that can be a repeat of what she already owns. The first real gift I ever got her when I got my first real job was a strand of white pearls.
I have found these online, I was wondering if anyone had any particular impression of them, I love them but I have very pinpointed tastes

i think it’s more of an i can wear it everyday and keep my daughter close - i wouldn’t wear those pearls everyday, but that’s me

Hey there;
I’ve been making jewelry for a while now. People always tell me that the pieces are very beautiful and pretty. I’m thinking about selling some of it to make a couple of extra bucks. I usually do sets like earring, necklace and bracelet and spend about 2-3 hours on one set.
Here are the questions I’d like to know:

Does anyone really buy handmade Jewelry? I make jewelry from sterling silver and gemstones but I dont have as much success as I had hoped for selling it online. Does anyone here honestly buy handmade jewelry?
Handmade jewelry is best sold at craft fairs and trade shows. The types of people who buy handmade, unique jewelry want to meet the person who made it. They’re the types of people who want to wear the piece, then when they get complimented on it, they say, "Yes, I bought this from a lovely woman in SoHo who made this. She had a little stand under a tree and I just love it!"
I’ve bought some unique hand made stuff. I have a beautiful silver and garnet bracelet I bought from a lady at a charity even where 30% of her profits went to breast cancer. I just love it. It’s really well made and I plan on passing it on to my daughter one day.
You’ll do better business by going to craft fairs, country fairs, swap meets, etc.

I realize this varies by region or country, but what commercial makes you never want to buy someones product. I will never go into a Jared’s jewelry store because I loathe their commercials- for some reason they think people saying- "He went to Jared’s" in various tones means something to me and will make me want to go there.
Good one! I hate that too! It’s like "you gotta keep up with the Jerads or you’re just a big loser!"
I dislike the PC vs MAC commercials from Apple. They’re very well written and acted but the message is far from the truth. I use both Mac and Vista and Vista does not have all the problems they suggest. MAC problems are next to impossible to decipher because everything is proprietary. Vista problems can be Googled and solutions found in seconds. The MAC hardware is sexy but no where near the hardware you can get for PC without dropping thousands of dollars for the brand!
