All about Jewelry

got married a week ago.inter-state wedding.my parents spend close to 6 lakh rupees on weding expenses and gave me 200 sovereigns of gold as jewellery.according to our tradition, dowry is given as jewellery and not cash.he feels otherwise and constantly blames my parents and accuses me for not telling them to "do their duties towards him".he feels that they shud have given money to him in the form of cash and so living conditions would have been better now.sometimes he gets verbally abusive and he feels i am a liability.its hard to believe that this was the same guy i dated for 2 years.
he brings it up only whenever we go shopping and somehow i feel crushed when he does that.apart from that he is a very loving and caring guy and he would never hurt me.

oh man, he sounds like a jerk, ( i’m sorry to say this) this happened to a girl i knew she dated this guy for like 2 years and after the wedding he wanted money from her parents, but she just left and got an annulment from him. i think you should have discussed this before you got married, but jsut remind you husband that it is 2008 not 1893 that he is a big boy now and should support this own family. if that doesn’t work tie him to a chair and make him watch laja 8 milion times when mayima chaudry gives her speech.

I am indian male. I think that girls look sexy and nice if she wears armlet made of silver or gold tightened on her arms and beautiful fine coiled toe ring.
How many of girls have experience this jewellery piece ?
Whether u have tried it, if not then try .

girls are looking sexy when they wear diamonds……..not matter what jewellery type…anything made of by diamonds are rocking for girls.

For my wedding my parents gave me lots of jewellery almost worth a million. The problem is my mother-in-law wants to keep them…she don’t want them, but wants their custody. I don’t feel like giving it to her. My hubby keeps mum abt this, saying he can’t take any sides. He belongs to a tamil family, but I’m not. They r saying that this is a tamil tradition, that the mother-in-keeps the gold.

Is thr any tamil guys over there, who can really tell me abt this "tradition" ?? Pls help me.

Its ok, whats the fuss about? Let her keep the jewellery, its not that she is going to sell it or you cant have it back, just ask her whenever you want to wear the jewellery. She will be happy and you will be happy aswell. By the way if you feel like you are not able to fulfill your mother inlaws expectation, you and your hubby can always move out and live on your own. By the way I am not Tamil.

I’ve started collection unique and funky looking, bright colored jewelry and I was wondering if anyone knew some cool places online to find any? and they can’t be too pricey, the more inexpensive the better. also looking for a cool watch? thanks!

They look like mostly the same thing for a tragus looking barbell. Are the sizes about the same? I have my tragus pierced and I don’t see many distinct "tragus" jewelry. If I bought an eyebrow one, would it suffice? Any personal experience welcome.
I have a captive bead ring in, which is what it was pierced with. I may buy a labret stud, but I want a funky barbell more. Any help?

i had my tragus pierced around a year ago and ive bought different pieces of jewellery including a small ring which i have in at the moment and it fits fine. its the same size as they pierced with (usually 1.4mm or 1.6mm) i wouldnt recommend an eyebrow barbell as it is curved to fit the eyebrow piercing. if you look around enough there is sure to be something you spot, i was pierced with a plastic back and a clear diamond stud which i love so may take another visit to the tattoo parlour to get one (:
a good online jewellery store i have used before is: www.bodyjewelleryshop.com

hope it helps x

Often, bangles are mentally associated with India. They existed as popular garments of jewelry for quite some time. Bangles come in a wide array of appearances, and are often made of gold or other precious metals. Sometimes, they are even glass. Lac bangles are also very popular in India. It is not a wonder that choosing which bangle to wear on a special occasion can present a chore for some people.

Glass bangles look great, especially with casual wear. The multicolored ones match fabulously with jeans and a clean, nice top. Flat soled Indian shoes add a unique and wonderful touch. When worn with sarees (Indian dress for women), these bangles look terrific.

Black tie events and casual parties serve as great opportunities to flaunt glass bangles too. They subtly add to many outfits, complimenting them spectacularly. For formal wear, an extra large set on both hands goes well with minimalist jewelry. Or, be the center of attention at any gathering with bold and brightly colored bangles!

You can also wear glass bangles with casual wear. Like perhaps multicolored ones with jeans and a nice top, along with flat soled Indian shoes. Glass bangles look wonderful with pencil skirts, pants and suits. Care should be taken, however, as they may hurt if they break.

Moreover, the ideal bangle matches the width of the wearer’s wrist. Bangles that are too tight may block blood flow; those too loose will slip off. Women with large, wide wrists should choose narrow width bangles.

Pearl bangles look great with dark suits. While appearing elegant, they also fit most budgets nicely.

Silver and gold bangles are the favorites of every woman. Of course one can choose the traditional gold bangles, which always look great and classic. Gold bangles often feature either golden or silver inlays. Some have various semi precious or precious stones (such as diamonds and rubies). Naturally these bangles are on the expensive side, but many consider them a wise investment. Daily use is not recommended as the expensive stones on those can chip off. Simple cut or solid gold bangles are more suited for everyday wear, as well as performing normal household chores.

Nowadays, “Choories” (circular wrist bangles) are also very popular. They commonly come in gold and silver. It is possible to wear metal bangles made of, for example, silver on any occasion; they match with most dresses. Lac bangles are cool; they feature beautiful designs that can make every day special.

Wood bangles can also be used as an alternative to the metal bangles. They are are available in various designs, wood finishes and styles. They look sleek, and come in bright colors. Terracotta bangles also offer the appeal of being chic and exotic. Ultimately, there is no reason to become bored with bangle jewelry.
